Janalyn Knight is an excellent author. I have this give stars because it kept my interest to the very end. I especially liked that it highlighted the cowboy lifestyle and the challenges of the constant challenge to improve and change to be viable. I also liked the fact that it highlighted a very real problem that faces out returning soldiers. PTSD is something that almost all of our soldiers deal with and so many never get help. We need to find a way to offer that help to each one of them. Losing even one of them to suicide is not necessary. I found this book to be smorgasboard of tropes. Is it a military romance with a Navy Seal hero?A western about a cowboy/rancher? Is he her best friend's brother? Is there a secret baby? Was she medical professional who had an abusive backgrounnd, was a "good girl" but had a week of "debauchery" and became a poor, struggling single mother while going out with a jerk who denied her baby daddy's bank loan application out of jealousy? Was the hero a sweet, kind, violent man with PTSD? Did they have sex but also pray, and at least once talk about God while they were in the throes of passion? Yes! Yes to all of those things, all at once, in one book. The end.
